Text in German. Of particular importance for research into German-Jewish history are subject-matter inventories, which summarize the source material scattered in various archives. Following the example of the inventory on the history and culture of Judaism in western Lower Saxony, published in 2002, this volume documents the sources on the history of the Jews in Schaumburg from the mid-16th century to the present. It also contains numerous references to neighboring territories such as Hanover, Lippe-Detmold, Hessen-Kassel and others. Thousands of relevant archival documents in the Bückeburg State Archives were evaluated for the source inventory, including state files as well as city and community, church and nobility - and royal archives as well as private estates. They are made accessible through extensive registers.
