| Abstract: |
The use of tablets to deliver inclass exams may be appealing to instructors wishing to take advantage of this evolving technology. This study compared two groups: students who took exams using traditional pencil and paper methods, and students who took exams via the SofTestM application (app) on their iPads. There was no statistically significant difference in exam averages between the two groups. The SofTestM app provides a valid alternative to pencil and paper for delivering examinations. However, students prefer taking exams using pencil and paper. The results of this study may influence educators' decisions on whether to adopt tabletbased assessments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
