| Abstract (English): |
In current socio-economic scenarios, sugar cane cultivation represents an option for the agricultural producers of the sub-Andean valleys. This implies that the countries of the region must face the typical problems of the sugar agroindustry, of a multicausal, multidisciplinary and complex nature, in order to achieve a true development of sustainable agriculture. The objective of this work is to identify the economic situation of this human group, contrast it with its productive characteristics, but above all, to identify their potential from a humanist perspective with a marked intention of improving their farming systems, increasing their productivity and modifying the economic-financial status of the population of the Huamboya canton in Morona Santiago province. En los escenarios socio-económicos actuales, la cañicultura representa una opción para los productores agrícolas de los valles subandinos. Ello implica que los países de la región deban hacer frente a los típicos problemas de la agroindustria azucarera de naturaleza multicausal, multidisciplinaria y compleja, de cara a conseguir un verdadero desarrollo de la agricultura sustentable. El objetivo de este trabajo es identificar la situación económica de este grupo humano, contrastarla con sus características productivas, pero sobre todo, identificar sus potencialidades, desde una perspectiva humanista, con la marcada intención de mejorar sus sistemas de cultivo, elevar su productividad y modificar el estatus económico-financiero de la población del cantón Huamboya en la provincia Morona Santiago.
