Abstract: The field experiment was conducted during Rabi 2020-21 with the objective to assess the influence of different agricultural practices on soil arthropods in chickpea ecosystem. Seven agriculture practices viz., 1) Conventional practice, 2) Zero till with mulch, 3) Zero till without mulch, 4) Raised bed with mulch, 5) Raised bed without mulch, 6) Organic field KVK, Kalaburagi and 7) Organic farmer’s field were selected. During the course of the investigation, various soil micro-arthropods (Collembolans, mites, symphylans, and diplurans) and macro arthropods (Coleopterans, orthopterans, spiders and ants) were detected in the chickpea ecosystem. Among the various micro arthropods, collembolans and mites were major; and among the various macro arthropods, spiders and coleopterans were major. Among various treatments, raised bed with mulch recorded the higher soil arthropod population and conventional practice recorded a lower soil arthropod population at all stages of investigation i.e., from 15 days before sowing to 15 days after harvest at 15 days intervals.
