| Abstract: |
Mobile money services have become essential for dealing with transactions in today's digital economy and also contribute to financial inclusion and economic development in developing countries. However, these services are increasingly targeted by fraud, making it imperative for users to adopt secure behaviours to ensure continuance use. Most studies on mobile money payment systems focus on the initial adoption phase and ignore the post-adoption phase, which is crucial in understanding the continuance use. This study investigates factors that enhance user security behaviours and the continuance use of mobile money services in Ghana, leveraging the Protection Motivation Theory (PMT). The study relied on survey data from 306 respondents and employed partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) as the analytical approach. The findings indicate that response efficacy and self-efficacy significantly influence secure behaviors, which in turn drive continuance use despite fraud threats. This study provides valuable insights for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
