Abstract: The article discusses the "Country as Teacher" pedagogy in Australian education, emphasizing its potential to address dissatisfaction among students and teachers with the current curriculum. This approach integrates Indigenous wisdom and knowledge, focusing on eco-centric and sustainable education practices that prioritize local culture and environment. The case study of Jervis Bay School illustrates how this methodology fosters deeper connections between students and their surroundings, enhancing their learning experiences through place-based education. The findings suggest that embracing this philosophy can improve student engagement, wellbeing, and understanding of Indigenous heritage while challenging conventional educational paradigms.
