This study explores how internal factors shaped Oman's regional and global roles from 1970 to 2020, focusing on the transformative era of Sultan Qaboos. During this era, Oman transitioned from a nation defined by underdevelopment to a contemporary state actively engaged in global political and economic affairs. This research explores Oman's influence both regionally and internationally, highlighting its economic and political roles, and how internal factors have shaped this prominence. Qualitative interviews were conducted with ten Omani academics, parliamentarians, and ambassadors, in addition to an analysis of key international and local reports. Key findings indicate that Oman has played a substantial political role in maintaining regional stability and prosperity but has faced economic constraints compared to other Gulf countries. Internal factors, including resource availability, government performance, and early internal conflicts under Sultan Qaboos have significantly impacted Oman's current position.
