| Abstract: |
The article reports on the declining demand for iron ore in China. For several months, the country's steel and spot iron-ore prices have been high. But economic data for the month of August 2009 showing a slowdown in infrastructure spending and real-estate development could indicate a decline in demand for iron ore and steel in the second half of the year. Fortescue Metals Group Ltd. revealed a below benchmark pricing for iron ore to be sold to China set by Rio Tinto Ltd. |
