| Abstract: |
The article discusses the issues concerning environmental policy in the U.S. It offers insights on the reaction of the Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ) towards the issue on the fate of the deer on a preserve in Virginia maintained by the Smithsonian Institution curator. It also examines the response to the increasing numbers of raccoons that transmit rabies to domestic animals and humans in the suburban communities. It argues that the two responses are the implications of using the philosophical and intellectual process of environmental policy, and that they are considered as measures of contemporary ignorance and spiritual poverty. |
