| Abstract: |
This design research demonstrates a prototype content management system capable of training graphic communication students in the creation of basic HTML web pages. The prototype serve as a method of helping students learn basic HTML structure and commands earlier in their academic careers. Exposure to the concepts of web page creation early in their academic career allows more time to hone their newly acquired skills, prior to joining the work place. Students with experience in creating web pages may be placed in careers that require them to work in one of the many tasks required in web page development. Their experience in creating web pages can prove to be an asset if this is the path their career takes. [The dissertation citations contained here are published with the permission of ProQuest LLC.
