| Abstract: |
This report examines the implementation of Summer 305, an enhanced summer program that operated from June 14 through August 5 during the summer of 2022 at 113 sites in Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS). Twenty program offerings were provided to accelerate learning recovery, develop foundational skills, and address social and emotional needs. Enrolled students participated in a complement of programs that included supplemental reading instruction, course recovery (courses designed to facilitate promotion), and/or courses needed for graduation (Department of Summer Services, 2022). The sections that follow examine two elementary programs: Early Head Start and Smart Start Elementary Camps; four secondary programs: Course Recovery, Algebra 1 Remediation, Smart Start Teen Camps, and Summer Internships; and two global programs: Extended School Year Services and MDCPS@The Children's Trust. Not included in this report is the state-mandated Summer Reading Camps for third-grade retainees, which is addressed in a separate evaluation. |
