Abstract: As economic and technological changes impact employment opportunities and attitudes about postsecondary education, K-12 school systems will have to keep pace as they work to develop programs to prepare students for life after high school. Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs have an evolving role in the pathways available to students. To learn more, the EdWeek Research Center conducted a nationally representative survey of educators with CTE responsibilities in their schools or districts. Results of the survey, which was fielded in September and October of 2025, indicate that these educators are experiencing a surge in student interest in CTE opportunities while simultaneously grappling with resource constraints that limit their ability to meet the demand for programs.
