Abstract: Decades after Brown v. Board of Education, school integration remains a contested yet persistent feature of American public education. Court rulings, shifting political winds, and demographic realities have complicated efforts to create racially and socioeconomically diverse schools, even as voluntary initiatives have emerged to fill gaps. Despite these challenges, public sentiment continues to favor integrated environments, and thousands of districts still maintain formal or informal diversity efforts. Against this backdrop, the EdWeek Research Center surveyed educators in fall 2025 to better understand how teachers, school leaders, and district administrators perceive the necessity, feasibility, and impact of school integration today. This report highlights key findings.
