| Abstract: |
English learners are a substantial and growing population in the nation's public schools. Potential changes in federal policy have prompted uncertainty about the funding and staffing that will be available to support instruction for this population. Before and during this time of flux, the EdWeek Research Center has kept a finger on the pulse of practices and attitudes related to English learners and immigrant students by repeatedly surveying teachers, school leaders, and district leaders about those topics. This report summarizes key survey findings in a series of charts that address topics ranging from professional development and instructional resources to educators' views of the principles underlying the landmark Supreme Court cases that have played a major role in guiding the education of students from immigrant families who learn English at school. |
