| Abstract: |
In this study, the Data, Research, and Accountability (DRA) Department -- in collaboration with the Office of Equity Affairs (OEA) -- identified schools that have successfully minimized disproportionality in academic and behavioral outcomes among student groups. Using a strength-based research approach, we spoke with administrators and students to illuminate the school strategies and practices associated with their positive outcomes. We examined academic, graduation, and behavioral equity by analyzing data across recent school years. Eleven Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) schools were identified as "Bright Spot" schools based on relatively low disproportionality among student groups in their achievement or behavioral data. |
