| Abstract: |
In this commentary, authors Frank Fear and Lorilee R. Sandmann reflect on their 2001-2002 "Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement" article "The 'New' Scholarship: Implications for Engagement and Extension" reprinted in this 20th anniversary issue of "Journal of Higher Education Outreach and Engagement." This article and its interpretation illustrates the take of both authors on the outreach and engagement movement, especially on the way it has evolved over the decades. They comment about the time, 15 years ago, when they wrote the original article, and describe what they were doing at that time in their respective careers.
