Suggests that a background in geography would enhance a journalist's ability to report disasters that had their origins in human behavior, rather than natural disasters. Argues that incorporation of geography courses into journalism students' curriculum would provide them with a perspective that synthesizes knowledge from a number of disciplines relevant to both physical and human processes.
