Description: Digitalization has become essential for organizations’ existence rather than a mere option. It is described as the process of dramatically changing and improving all parts of entities by the integration of information, processing, communication, and networking technologies. This study aims to identify major research trends and emerging themes in digitalization. It also assesses whether a significant gap exists in the literature regarding employee change management in relation to digitalization and organizational productivity. A systematic literature review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA standards and supported by a meta-analysis. Sixty-four articles published between 2000 and 2025 were selected from online databases based on predefined inclusion criteria. Keyword co-occurrence analysis was conducted using the VOSviewer software tool and the meta-analysis was performed using EViews. The analysis reveals a significant gap in literature due to the limited integration of human centric themes into productivity focused research. Employee related factors are rarely examined alongside productivity-oriented outcomes, while the moderating roles of culture and leadership emerge as critical yet underexplored in this relationship. Findings suggest that future research is required in integrating both technological and human aspects, underscoring a more comprehensive approach to digitalization. More specifically, this study makes a significant contribution to management science discipline by emphasizing the importance of the human centric aspect of digitalization and its impact on organizational productivity.
