Description: ENACT’s vision is the development and deployment of an advanced hyper-distributed platform that seamlessly integrates cloud, edge, and physical resources. This platform is designed to support dynamic, data-intensive applications by leveraging cutting-edge AI-driven orchestration, robust data management, and secure communication mechanisms. The primary goal is to optimize resource utilisation and enhance the performance of distributed applications across diverse environments. Deliverable D2.3, " ENACT Cognitive Compute Continuum (CCC) Reference Architecture", presents the first iteration of the architecture of the ENACT platform, gives a detailed description of its layers and an overview of the platform's components and their interactions. The proposed innovations and technological advancements are also highlighted, showcasing the core enablers of the ENACT platform, among them the Dynamic Graph Modeller (DGM) of the CCC, a Cognitive Orchestrator for resource and application adaptations, and an Application Programming Model (APM) to develop and deploy hyper-distributed applications. The ENACT platform's multi-layer architecture integrates functionalities that create a cohesive, scalable, infrastructure that allows for secure and interoperable data sharing. The modular design supports future extensions and allows for the individual use and exploitation of platform components. This deliverable also provides workflows that illustrate core functionalities such as for Deployment and Training of AI models and the interactions and data exchanges between the core components and services of the ENACT platform that ensure efficient operation and management. Additionally, through its Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) capabilities these interactions take place with heterogeneous edge and cloud resources with minimal manual intervention. ; Submitted for EC approval
