Hello! On Friday 17th November 2023, awardees of the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Diversity Impact Programme (DIP) came together for the inaugural Community of Practice event, hosted by the Ca-pow! team at the University of Bristol. The awardees were joined by representatives from the Royal Academy of Engineering and the University, as well as from local industry and community organisations. After a welcome and introduction from Dr Chandarana, the Academy gave an overview of the Diversity Impact Programme and shared plans for its development based on current projects’ findings. In short presentations, DIP awardees reflected on the use of co-creation in their projects, and their target groups. They also noted key project outcomes, the successes of the projects, and challenges faced. Charlie Coyte, a Senior Analyst at the Academy, shared a presentation to the awardees which focused on the best practices and strategies for the monitoring and evaluation of their projects. Thank you to our fellow awardees for their contributions to this booklet, which enables us all to note our achievements and progress, while raising awareness of initiatives funded in the programme. Thank you also to our live illustrator (Ralph Mann, Purple Heron Communications) and graphic designer (Shirine Watts, University of Bristol) for their creativity. We hope you will find this to be a useful resource for your current and future endeavours in the equity, diversity, and inclusion space, within engineering and beyond. Enjoy!
