| Description: |
Trichoscopy is a useful tool for diagnosis of tinea capitis. However, the findings are often non-specific and it can be mistaken with other diseases. The implementation of ultraviolet light during trichoscopy may facilitate clinicians to diagnose this disease early and to target the dermatophyte involved according to fluorescence characteristics. It may also help to identify the trichoscopic findings of ectothrix or endothrix infections. In addition, it allows to target specific treatment depending on the findings, being helpful for the cure of the patients. |
