Description: Novel C , C -glycosyl amino acids were accessed by means of an iron-catalyzed hydrogen atom transfer sequence. Crucially, two-fold diastereocontrol could be achieved in the ‘matched’ coupling of exo - d -glycals with an enantiopure dehydroalanine acceptor.
