| Description: | Hydrolysis of two difluorochloropyrimidine dyes gives a mixture of products some of which have been isolated and identified. The main by‐product in dyeing is a monofluoro derivative, which itself can react with wool to a considerable extent. A product which contains no fluorine is also formed and is unexpectedly difficult to extract from wool; the reason for this affinity remains unclear. Most unfixed dye on the fibre at the end of a normal dyeing is still in a reactive form. 45th Communication on Investigations in Textile Chemistry. For 44th Communication see reference [1]. |
