The photostability and reusability of Al-doped photocatalysts were systematically investigated for the long-term degradation of ciprofloxacin (CIP) under simulated solar irradiation. The study evaluated the structural integrity, photocatalytic efficiency, and degradation pathways of CIP over multiple cycles. Results demonstrated that Al doping enhanced charge separation and reduced electron-hole recombination, leading to improved photocatalytic performance. After 10 consecutive cycles, the Al-doped photocatalyst retained over 85% of its initial activity, with minimal metal leaching and structural degradation. Kinetic studies revealed a consistent pseudo-first-order degradation mechanism, while LC-MS analysis identified key intermediates, confirming effective mineralization. This work highlights the potential of Al-doped photocatalysts as durable and efficient materials for sustainable antibiotic wastewater treatment |
