| Description: |
Pulp of primary teeth provides all the abilities of healing and regeneration and in this aspect it is similar to the pulp of permanent teeth. Odontoblasts may produce reactionary dentin under mild to moderate stimulus. Indirect pulp capping, one visit technique, is a vital method of treatment for reversible pulp inflammation successfully applied in primary dentition. The aim of the study is to determine the level of success after application of indirect pulp capping, one visit technique, in cases of reversible pulp inflammation in primary teeth. Material and method: There are 40 cases with reversible pulpitis in primary teeth and the patients are classified as patients with low caries risk. Indirect pulp capping one visit technique is applied by following the approved clinical protocol. The layer of affected demineralized dentin is covered by calcium hydroxide cement and the teeth are obturated with compomer. Results. Clinical results are registered clinically and radiographically till the end of the second year after treatment. The level of success is 92,5% after the end of the second year. Conclusion. We stated that the indirect pulp capping one visit technique for treatment of reversible pulpitis in primary teeth is suitable and recommended when the aim is to stimulate the healing processes in the pulp and keep its vitality. |
