This study investigates the self-esteem of mothers with school-aged children in Perak, Malaysia, focusing on the impact of education, employment status, and age on self-esteem. Using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, responses from 444 mothers revealed a moderate level of self-esteem. Mothers with higher levels of education and employment reported significantly higher self-esteem, while age had no notable effect. Many participants expressed self-doubt, reflecting the emotional challenges they faced in balancing their work and family roles. The findings underscore the importance of implementing supportive policies, educational initiatives, and mental health services to address these issues. Researchers recommend conducting further studies to explore changes in maternal self-esteem over time. |
