| Description: | Kidney cancer (KC) is the sixth most common cancer in adults in the UK, with approximately 13,900 new cases every year. KC incidence rates have almost doubled since the 1990s and are projected to rise higher by 2040. Five-year relative survival for KC in the UK is below the European average, and there is wide variation in provision of KC care in England and Wales. If found early KC can be cured but early diagnosis is challenging as most people (87%) with stage 1a disease are diagnosed incidentally, having no relevant symptoms. |
