| Description: |
The population of Gaza is experiencing a health and humanitarian crisis. Tens of thousands of lives have been lost already, and many more people will die due to preventable causes related to infectious disease, malnutrition, and traumatic injury. As public health researchers and practitioners, our role in times of both peace and war, is to promote population health, prevent disease and reduce health inequalities. While the politics may be complicated, the public health imperative is not complicated– action is needed to prevent further death, injury and suffering in Gaza. |
