Description: International audience ; Context. Polymedication associated with an ageing population leadsto a risk of potentially inappropriate prescriptions. The inappropriateprescriptions may be responsible for serious adverse events and haveeconomic consequences for patients and society. When inappropriateprescriptions are identified, deprescribing should be considered. In2021, a literature review identified seven deprescribing principles usedby general practitioners (GPs). This review found only two French articles.Objective. The objective was to describe the French literature on deprescribingin general practice, using the principles of the deprescribingprocess previously described.Methods. A targeted review of French literature on deprescribing ingeneral practice was conducted. The inclusion period was from 1 January2015 to 31 December 2022. The search included primary care societysites, institutional sites, academic repositories, and French-languagegeneral medicine journals.Results. In total, 45 studies were included. The majority were medicaltheses (86.7 %). All deprescribing principles were addressed, placingGPs at the center of deprescribing. The most studied principle was thepartnership with patients and carers, illustrating that deprescribingis a shared decision-making process. Collaboration with communitypharmacists was identified as an important factor in the deprescribingsuccess.Conclusion. A proposal has been made for a synthesis of evidencebasedtools that can be used in practice to help identify inappropriatemedicines, promote discussion with the patient and develop a strategyfor deprescribing. The development of interprofessional training coursesfocusing on deprescribing should help to improve its implementation. ; Contexte. La polymédication associée au vieillissement de la population entraîne un risque de prescriptions médicamenteuses inappropriées. Celles-ci sont responsables d’effets indésirables graves et de conséquences économiques pour les patients et la société. La déprescription doit être envisagée ...
