The work presented in this Thesis has been carried out partially in two research stays funded by the NoE, ’Interoperability Research for Networked Enterprises Applications and Software ’ (INTEROP) (IST-2003-508011), the first in the European Software Institute (ESI) of Bilbao and the second in Ecole Centrale de Lille (ECL) of Lille. It has also been developed within the framework of the Spanish Project funded by the ’Comisión Interministerial de Ciencia y Tecnología ’ (CICYT), ’Gestión del conocimiento en el ámbito de las empresas virtuales ’ (DPI2003-02515), carried out by the Research Group ’Integración y Re-Ingeniería de Sistemas ’ (IRIS) at the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló. Enterprise Modelling is defined as the art of externalising enterprise knowledge, which adds value to the business or needs to be shared. This kind of modelling has been used successfully since its apparition in the 80’s in many domains and with different purposes, among them the re-engineering of business processes or the implementation of computer systems.
