Description: Background and Aims Technique survival in peritoneal dialysis (PD) is one of the five core outcomes identified by the SONG-PD initiative. The unified definition of technique failure includes a composite end point of death or transfer to hemodialysis for more than 30 days. Chronic inflammation is a hallmark of kidney failure and appears to adversely affect cardiovascular risk, technique and patient survival in PD patients. The associations of immune cell subsets as potential markers of inflammation, with specific modality related and clinical outcomes remain to be determined in PD patients. Thus, the aim of our prospective study was to investigate the prognostic value of a selected panel of immune cells with respect to technique failure development in a cohort of PD patients. Method 30 stable PD patients were enrolled. Exclusion criteria included a history of malignancy, autoimmune disease, liver disease, acute or chronic infections, treatment with immunosuppressive medications and/or recent hospitalization (
