| Description: |
The lack of reliable data hinders evidence-based policymaking and limits the acknowledgement of culture’s role in sustainable development. The UNESCO Culture|2030. Indicators framework fills this gap by measuring and monitoring culture’s contribution to the 2030 Agenda, drawing on both qualitative and quantitative data. This publication showcases a visual summary of Romania’s implementation of the UNESCO framework, supporting national and local efforts to integrate culture into sustainable development planning. The findings highlight culture’s relevance across various policy areas—from environment and education to economic growth and social inclusion—while highlighting challenges and opportunities for improved governance and data systems. Part of a global series spanning countries and cities worldwide, this volume provides key insights and recommendations to encourage cross-sectoral and multi-level collaboration. It serves as a practical resource for enhancing the visibility of culture in the 2030 Agenda and beyond. |
