This deliverable “White paper 1 on European universities” has been produced by the Circle U. Think & Do Tank. In its first White Paper, the Think and Do tank shares an initial joint understanding of its mission, its way of working and its main development strategy. The Circle U. Think & Do Tank will seek to influence the future of higher education towards a European Education Area that is sustainable, responsible, peaceful, democratic, collaborative, and prosperous. Its overall objective is to enhance the quality of teaching in higher education, by combining thinking and doing and by imagining, Highlighting and disseminating new ways of teaching and learning. The Think & Do Tank will be a laboratory for reflection and experimentation in pedagogical innovation for academics and researchers, students, academic staff and stakeholders, to transform the universities from the inside. The expected impact is that the Circle U. community will act for more sustainable ways of teaching and learning. Based on this “self-transformation” process, the Think & Do Tank will be even more powerful to directly influence policy-makers towards a more sustainable education.The Think & Do Tank will thus engage with two kick-off initiatives :1. Building a common understanding of “sustainable education” and developing innovative initiatives in this direction, and,2. Raising awareness of multilingualism as a resource |
