| Description: |
A novel type of acoustic metamaterials with unit cells composed of an elongated waveguide and complex-shaped joint with a void is considered. The experimental samples were manufactured using additive technologies. In the experiment, elastic guided waves were excited using a piezoelectric actuator and measured with a laser Doppler vibrometer. The analysis of numerical and experimental data shows that forbidden zones of 20 kHz width occur in such metamaterial plates and that introduction of voids could sufficiently influence on the attenuation of particular elastic guided waves. |
