Pour relever un défi de recherche en sciences sociales, la coopération entre un sociologue de terrain et un réalisateur de film a conduit à la mobilisation de diverses ressources audiovisuelles : des images d’archives soumises aux enquêtés d’une part, et, des images produites sur les enquêtés durant la recherche d’autre part. Outre la publication d’articles, le travail a conduit à la co-réalisation d’un film de recherche ainsi que d’un documentaire interactif. Il s’agit, ici, à partir d’une position d’observation participante du sociologue dans le monde de la réalisation pour les besoins de son enquête, de souligner les renouvellements de regard que cette implication de l’art cinématographique dans la recherche a apportés aux sciences sociales. La participation est devenue observante pour dépasser une difficulté éprouvée dans la réalisation, jusqu’à faire la démonstration d’une force particulière des images de l’enquête filmée pour faire partager au public la recherche ethnographique dans ses ressorts interprétatifs. ; The cooperation between a fieldworker and a film-maker to meet a social science research challenge led to the mobilization of various audiovisual resources: archival images submitted to the respondents on the one hand, and, images produced on the respondents during the survey on the other. In addition to the publication of articles, the work led to the co-production of a research film and an interactive documentary. The aim here is to highlight how this involvement of cinematographic art in research change the perspective of the social sciences. First, from a position of participant observation by the sociologist in the world of film-making for the needs of his investigation. Secondly, from a position of observing participation in order to overcome the difficulty experienced in film-making. Thirdly, to demonstrate the particular strength of the images of the filmed investigation in order to share with the public the interpretive springs of ethnographic research. |
