A History of the Case Study takes the reader on a transcontinental journey from the imperial world of fin-de-siècle Central Europe to the interwar metropolises of Weimar Germany, and to the United States of America in the post-war years. Foregrounding the figures of case study pioneers, and highlighting their radical engagements with the genre, the work scrutinises the case writing practices of Sigmund Freud and his predecessor sexologist Richard von Krafft-Ebing; writers such as Leopold von Sacher-Masoch and Weimar intellectuals such as Erich Wulffen. There result new insights into the continuing legacy of such writers, and into the agency increasingly claimed by the readerships that emerged with the development of modernity--from readers who self-identified as masochists, to conmen and female criminals. lok: 42433239 3 exp: 42433239 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.651 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023726 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 5 exp: 42433239 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.655 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023734 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 8 exp: 42433239 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.659 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023742 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 10 exp: 42433239 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.664 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023750 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 11 exp: 42433239 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.668 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023769 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 13 exp: 42433239 13 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-01-18 $t22:53:56.129 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014862779 208@/01 $a09-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 20 exp: 42433239 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.673 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023777 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 21 exp: 42433239 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.677 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023785 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 23 exp: 42433239 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.682 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023793 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 24 exp: 42433239 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-01-18 $t22:53:56.134 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014862787 208@/01 $a09-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 25 exp: 42433239 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.686 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023807 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 36 exp: 42433239 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-09-21 $t22:50:01.826 201C/01 $003-09-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01167431960 208@/01 $a03-09-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 49 exp: 42433239 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-05-20 $t17:20:02.328 201C/01 $029-05-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01108469779 208@/01 $a29-05-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 51 exp: 42433239 51 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-01-18 $t22:53:56.142 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014862809 208@/01 $a09-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 54 exp: 42433239 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-05-20 $t17:20:02.332 201C/01 $029-05-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01108469787 208@/01 $a29-05-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 59 exp: 42433239 59 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-01-18 $t22:53:56.145 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014862817 208@/01 $a09-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 69 exp: 42433239 69 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.701 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023831 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 75 exp: 42433239 75 1 #EPN 201B/01 $009-01-18 $t22:53:56.152 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014862833 208@/01 $a09-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 76 exp: 42433239 76 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.706 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0101402384X 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 107 exp: 42433239 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-05-20 $t17:20:02.334 201C/01 $029-05-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01108469795 208@/01 $a29-05-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 108 exp: 42433239 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-05-20 $t17:20:02.337 201C/01 $029-05-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01108469809 208@/01 $a29-05-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 204 exp: 42433239 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.711 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023858 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH lok: 42433239 205 exp: 42433239 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $029-12-17 $t22:45:46.715 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014023866 208@/01 $a29-12-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt1wn0sb8 $XH
