We use the 2002 wave of the Equality Security Community Survey to explore the relationship between voting and personal characteristics, work characteristics, social capital attributes and ethnic characteristics. We find that the odds of voting are largely a product of socio-demographic and social capital attributes. The impact of immigration and ethnicity is largely overridden. This suggests that it is not the minority attribute that impacts voting. Rather it is age, level of schooling and level of civic engagement which affects the probability of voting, both federal and provincial lok: 45179993 3 exp: 45179993 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:14.945 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007666 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 5 exp: 45179993 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:14.951 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007674 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 8 exp: 45179993 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:14.957 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007682 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 10 exp: 45179993 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:14.962 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007690 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 11 exp: 45179993 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:14.967 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007704 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 20 exp: 45179993 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:14.972 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007712 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 21 exp: 45179993 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:14.977 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007720 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 23 exp: 45179993 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:14.983 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007739 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 24 exp: 45179993 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:14.988 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007747 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 25 exp: 45179993 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:14.994 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007755 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 36 exp: 45179993 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $002-06-25 $t02:12:14.895 201C/01 $002-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01305069072 208@/01 $a02-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 49 exp: 45179993 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:14.999 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007763 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 54 exp: 45179993 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:15.011 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0114400778X 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 108 exp: 45179993 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:15.023 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007801 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 204 exp: 45179993 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:15.028 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0114400781X 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH lok: 45179993 205 exp: 45179993 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:01:15.033 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144007828 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/16431 $XH
