Memorial volumes are books dedicated to cities, towns and villages, mainly in Central and Eastern Europe, whose Jewish population was annihilated during the Holocaust. Published by organizations of Jewish survivors, their cheif aim is to record for posterity the history of the localities before World War II, the events that led to their destruction and the fate of the individuals who inhabited them.
