Franz Brentano has been widely perceived almost exclu-sively as the re-discoverer of intentionality and the founder of the continental phenomenology. Only during the last 30 years, however, has his immense importance in the development of analytic philosophy become clear, as well as the arbitrariness of the very division between analytic and continental philosophy. This volume is devoted to Brentano's influence on the Polish Analytic Philosophy better known under the name of: "Lvov-Warsaw School".

Contributors include Arianna Betti (Amsterdam), Arkadiusz Chrudzimski (Szczecin and Salzburg), Dale Jacquette (Pennsylvania), Dariusz ukasiewicz (Bydgoszcz), Maria van der Schaar (Leiden), Peter Simons (Leeds), Barry Smith (Buffalo and Saarbrcken), Jan Woleski (Cracow).

Arkadiusz Chrudzimski is associate professor of Philosophy at the University of Szczecin (Poland) and research assistant at the University of Salzburg (Austria).

Dariusz ukasiewicz is associate professor at Casimir the Great University in Bydgoszcz (Poland). He has published articles in analytic phenomenology, the Lvov-Warsaw School philosophy and the philosophy of religion.
