Zusammenfassung:	[Dt.:] "body.city" war eine Veranstaltung des Haus der Kulturen (Berlin). Ziel war es, neue Entwicklungen in der Gegenwartkunst und der Kultur Indiens zu präsentieren. Im Rahmen dieser Veranstaltung wurden zwei Ausstellung zur indischen Kunst gezeigt: "subTerrain: artworks in the cityfold" und "Indian Popular Culture: The Conquest of the World as Picture". Gezeigt werden Bilder von Gemälden, aber auch Graphiken und Videoinstallationen von indischen Künstler. Schwerpunkt ist Kunst aus den großen Städten Indiens, die als Brennpunkte der indischen Gesellschaft gesehen werden können. Neben den Bildern sind auch Hintergrundinformationen zu den Ausstellungen auf diesen Internetseiten zu finden. - [Engl.:] The House of World Cultures, Berlin, presented the festival "body.city - New Perspectives from India" with a panoramic survey of contemporary Indian art and culture. This included the two exhibitions: "subTerrain: artworks in the cityfold" and "Popular Indian Culture. The Conquest of the World as Picture". The last one offers a critical viewing of the strategic role of popular Indian imagery from the nineteenth and the twentieth century. "subTerrain: artworks in the cityfold" is a statement on contemporary Indian art. The exhibition s curator Geeta Kapur has selected works by sixteen artists who have very distinctive reactions to social and political issues in the Indian megalopolis.
