The central position of the printed word, and primarily, books as the most valuable cultural medium and the main source of knowledge, are becoming questioned in the age of the Internet. Reading as gateway to the world of fantasies has been challenged by powerful audiovisual media. Is the pleasure of reading as a creative process involving imagination and self-cognition disappearing, and being replaced by the quick exchange of impressions and images in social media? Are these critical notes and concerns about the future of reading just rapid generalisations and misunderstandings, evoked by the invasion of new technologies in the old and well-established world of books? The articles gathered here represent empirical studies, theoretical and historical reflections on the changes in the world of books and reading in the Baltic and Nordic countries, as well as descriptions of the new library practices that reflect the creative efforts to adapt to the changing social and technological environment. lok: 36242419 3 exp: 36242419 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.121 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757563260 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a24-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 5 exp: 36242419 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.124 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757847161 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a31-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 8 exp: 36242419 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.127 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757563279 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a24-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 10 exp: 36242419 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.130 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757563287 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a24-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 11 exp: 36242419 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.133 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $075784717X 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a31-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 13 exp: 36242419 13 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.136 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757847188 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a31-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 20 exp: 36242419 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.139 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757563295 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a24-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 21 exp: 36242419 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.141 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757847196 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a31-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 23 exp: 36242419 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.144 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757563309 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a24-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 24 exp: 36242419 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.147 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $075784720X 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a31-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 25 exp: 36242419 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.150 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757563317 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a24-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 36 exp: 36242419 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $013-10-24 $t02:54:10.268 201C/01 $013-10-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01277818061 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a13-10-24 $bl lok: 36242419 49 exp: 36242419 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.153 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757847218 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a31-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 51 exp: 36242419 51 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.159 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757847234 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a31-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 59 exp: 36242419 59 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.165 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757847250 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a31-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 74 exp: 36242419 74 1 #EPN 201B/01 $013-10-24 $t02:54:10.272 201C/01 $013-10-24 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0127781807X 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a13-10-24 $bl lok: 36242419 76 exp: 36242419 76 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.171 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0787048828 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a05-11-16 $bl lok: 36242419 107 exp: 36242419 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.181 201C/01 $003-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01091938490 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a03-04-20 $bl lok: 36242419 108 exp: 36242419 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.184 201C/01 $003-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01091938504 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a03-04-20 $bl lok: 36242419 204 exp: 36242419 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.187 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757563325 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a24-07-15 $bl lok: 36242419 205 exp: 36242419 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $015-03-21 $t22:38:15.190 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0757563333 204P/01 $010.26530/OAPEN_496790 $S0 208@/01 $a24-07-15 $bl
