Die Drucke können nach Hersteller oder Dargestelltem gesucht werden. Der Großteil der Bilder in der bpi1700 Datenbank stammt aus dem British Museum, ergänzt durch The National Art Library at the Victoria and Albert Museum. Unter der Kategorie 'Resources' finden sich Hintergrundinformationen zum Verständnis der Drucke aus dem 16. und 17. Jahrhundert. Unter 'Research' findet man bspw. eine Liste aller Illustrationen in britschen Büchern die zwischen 1600 und 1640 veröffentlicht wurden. - [Engl.:] This website makes available a database of prints and book illustrations from early modern Britain in fully-searchable form. The image records have been organized in such a way that copies and variations of the same print are gathered together within a single record. Prints can be searched for by producer, by name of person depicted, and by subject. The majority of images in the bpi1700 database come from the collection in the Department of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum. These have been supplemented by most notably from the National Art Library at the Victoria and Albert Museum. The 'Resources' section presents contextual information for understanding British printed images in the 16th and 17th centuries: a description of techniques; a history of printmaking in early modern Britain; descriptions of the main genres of printed images etc.. In the 'Research' section they offer a complete listing of illustrations in British books published between 1604 and 1640.
