Others shift focus from process to the archaeology of maritime places from the Bering to the Torres Straits, providing highly detailed discussions of how living by and with the sea is woven into all elements of human life from subsistence to trade and to ritual. Of equal importance are more abstract discussions of islands as natural places refashioned by human occupation, either through the introduction of new organisms or new systems of production and consumption. These transformation stories gain further texture (and variety) through close examinations of some of the more significant consequences of colonisation and migration, particularly the creation of new cultural identities. A final set of papers explores the ways in which the techniques of archaelogical sciences have provided insights into the fauna of the islands and the human history of such places."--Provided by publisher. lok: 41648771 3 exp: 41648771 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $013-09-17 $t00:03:50.799 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01007303379 208@/01 $a12-09-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 5 exp: 41648771 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-18 $t23:06:28.186 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014925266 208@/01 $a10-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 8 exp: 41648771 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $013-09-17 $t00:03:50.803 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01007303387 208@/01 $a12-09-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 10 exp: 41648771 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $013-09-17 $t00:03:50.809 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01007303395 208@/01 $a12-09-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 11 exp: 41648771 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-18 $t23:06:28.194 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014925274 208@/01 $a10-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 13 exp: 41648771 13 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-18 $t23:06:28.198 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014925282 208@/01 $a10-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 21 exp: 41648771 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $013-09-17 $t00:03:50.818 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01007303417 208@/01 $a12-09-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 23 exp: 41648771 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $013-09-17 $t00:03:50.822 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01007303425 208@/01 $a12-09-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 24 exp: 41648771 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-18 $t23:06:28.200 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014925290 208@/01 $a10-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 25 exp: 41648771 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $013-09-17 $t00:03:50.827 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01007303433 208@/01 $a12-09-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 36 exp: 41648771 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-18 $t23:06:28.206 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014925312 208@/01 $a10-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 51 exp: 41648771 51 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-18 $t23:06:28.214 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014925339 208@/01 $a10-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 54 exp: 41648771 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $022-05-20 $t16:50:43.913 201C/01 $022-05-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01107610028 208@/01 $a22-05-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 59 exp: 41648771 59 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-18 $t23:06:28.222 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014925355 208@/01 $a10-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 71 exp: 41648771 71 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-18 $t23:06:28.226 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01014925363 208@/01 $a10-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 75 exp: 41648771 75 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-18 $t23:06:28.234 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0101492538X 208@/01 $a10-01-18 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 107 exp: 41648771 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $022-05-20 $t16:50:43.916 201C/01 $022-05-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01107610036 208@/01 $a22-05-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 108 exp: 41648771 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $022-05-20 $t16:50:43.919 201C/01 $022-05-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01107610044 208@/01 $a22-05-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 204 exp: 41648771 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $013-09-17 $t00:03:50.832 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01007303441 208@/01 $a12-09-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH lok: 41648771 205 exp: 41648771 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $013-09-17 $t00:03:50.837 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0100730345X 208@/01 $a12-09-17 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.jstor.org/stable/10.2307/j.ctt24h8gp $XH
