The book is devoted to the phenomenon of historical memory, memorial sites and politics of memory, which was presented from a sociological perspective, while using the scientific achievements of historians, anthropologists, museum theorists and cultural theorists. The authors' center of consideration is the multiplicity of experiences and relationships connecting the local community of ambinowice with the Museum, which is not a typical local museum, and is of considerable importance for the post-war historical identity of the town and its recognition in Poland.
