The quantitative analysis, which covers the EU transport acquis, reveals five main findings. First, the EU has a transposition deficit in this area, with almost 70% of all national legal instruments causing problems. Second, transposition delay is multifaceted. The results provide strong support for the assertion that distinguishing between the outcomes of the transposition process (on time, short delay or long delay) is a useful method of investigation. Third, factors specific to European directives (level of discretion and transposition deadline) and domestic-level factors (national transposition package and number of veto players) have different effects on the length of delay. Furthermore, the timing of general elections in member states as well as policy (sub)sector-related accidents influence the timeliness of national transposition processes lok: 45183285 3 exp: 45183285 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.899 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144210984 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 5 exp: 45183285 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.903 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144210992 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 8 exp: 45183285 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.906 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0114421100X 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 10 exp: 45183285 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.910 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144211018 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 11 exp: 45183285 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.913 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144211026 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 20 exp: 45183285 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.918 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144211034 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 21 exp: 45183285 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.921 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144211042 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 23 exp: 45183285 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.926 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144211050 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 24 exp: 45183285 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.929 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144211069 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 25 exp: 45183285 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.934 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144211077 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 36 exp: 45183285 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-06-25 $t02:02:39.652 201C/01 $003-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0130508554X 208@/01 $a03-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 49 exp: 45183285 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.937 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144211085 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 54 exp: 45183285 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.948 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144211107 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 108 exp: 45183285 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.956 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144211123 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 204 exp: 45183285 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.960 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144211131 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH lok: 45183285 205 exp: 45183285 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:55.964 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0114421114X 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/22933 $XH
