Thus, revolution, reform and reconciliation with the recent past are key concepts in terms of the present analysis. The main argument put forward by this study is that the nature of the 1989 regime change has influenced to a large extent the subsequent developments in the respective countries, especially with regard to the processes of democratization and integration into the European structures. Equally important, it influenced the way in which the wrongdoings of the defunct communist regimes were dealt with. This study is concerned with three major issues: (1) the nature of regime change; (2) the factors that determined the speed of the democratic consolidation process; and (3) the ways of coming to terms with the lok: 45183414 3 exp: 45183414 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.502 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209110 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 5 exp: 45183414 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.508 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209129 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 8 exp: 45183414 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.512 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209137 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 10 exp: 45183414 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.516 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209145 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 11 exp: 45183414 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.520 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209153 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 20 exp: 45183414 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.523 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209161 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 21 exp: 45183414 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.527 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0114420917X 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 23 exp: 45183414 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.530 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209188 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 24 exp: 45183414 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.534 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209196 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 25 exp: 45183414 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.538 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0114420920X 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 36 exp: 45183414 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-06-25 $t02:02:22.674 201C/01 $003-06-25 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01305085493 208@/01 $a03-06-25 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 49 exp: 45183414 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.542 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209218 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 54 exp: 45183414 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.549 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209234 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 108 exp: 45183414 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.556 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209250 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 204 exp: 45183414 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.559 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209269 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH lok: 45183414 205 exp: 45183414 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $025-02-21 $t23:06:54.564 201C/01 $025-02-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01144209277 208@/01 $a25-02-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttp://www.ssoar.info/ssoar/handle/document/2729 $XH
