In this book Guy Standing introduces what he calls the Precariat - a growing number of people across the world living and working precariously, usually in a series of short-term jobs, without recourse to stable occupational identities or careers, stable social protection or protective regulations relevant to them. They include migrants, but also locals. -- Standing argues that this class of people could produce new instabilities in society. They are increasingly frustrated and dangerous because they have no voice, and hence they are vulnerable to the siren calls of extreme political parties. He outlines a new kind of good society, with more people actively involved in civil society and the precariat re-engaged. He goes on to consider one way to a new better society -- an unconditional basic income for everyone, contributed by the state, which could be topped up through earned incomes. -- This is a topical, and a radical book, which will appeal to a broad market concerned by the increasing problems of labour insecurity and civic disengagement. lok: 46191805 3 101B $023-06-23 $t09:25:54.000 101C $023-06-23 101U $0utf8 145S/01 $a007 exp: 46191805 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.482 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545762 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 5 exp: 46191805 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.487 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545770 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 8 exp: 46191805 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.493 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545789 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 10 exp: 46191805 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.497 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545797 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 11 exp: 46191805 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.502 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545800 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 20 exp: 46191805 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.506 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545819 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 21 exp: 46191805 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.512 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545827 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 23 exp: 46191805 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.516 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545835 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 24 exp: 46191805 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.522 201C/01 $004-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0109259518X 208@/01 $a04-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 25 exp: 46191805 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.527 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545843 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 36 exp: 46191805 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.576 201C/01 $003-12-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01174001984 208@/01 $a03-12-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 49 exp: 46191805 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.531 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545851 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 54 exp: 46191805 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.542 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0109054586X 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 69 exp: 46191805 69 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.552 201C/01 $004-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01092595201 208@/01 $a04-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 107 exp: 46191805 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.557 201C/01 $004-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0109259521X 208@/01 $a04-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 108 exp: 46191805 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.562 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545886 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 204 exp: 46191805 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.566 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545894 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH lok: 46191805 205 exp: 46191805 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $003-12-21 $t22:41:03.571 201C/01 $001-04-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01090545908 208@/01 $a01-04-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://doi.org/10.5040/9781849664554 $XH
