The volume focuses on the key intricacies and fallacies of prevision in a time of complexity, uncertainty and unpredictability. The first part of the book discusses different academic perspectives and contributions to future-oriented policymaking. The second part discusses the role of future knowledge in decision-making across different empirical issues such as climate, health, finance, bio- and nuclear weapons, civil war, and crime. It analyses how prediction is integrated into public policy and governance, and how in return governance structures influence the making of knowledge about the future. Contributors integrate two analytical dimensions in their chapters- the epistemology of prevision and the political and ethical implications of prevision. In this way, the volume contributes to a better understanding of the complex interaction and feedback loops between the processes of creating knowledge about the future and the application of this future knowledge in public policy and governance. This book will be of much interest to students of security studies, political science, sociology, technology studies and IR. lok: 46988312 3 exp: 46988312 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.695 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130659 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 5 exp: 46988312 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.705 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130667 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 8 exp: 46988312 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.713 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130675 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 10 exp: 46988312 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.720 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130683 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 11 exp: 46988312 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.727 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130691 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 20 exp: 46988312 20 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.740 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130705 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 21 exp: 46988312 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.749 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130713 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 23 exp: 46988312 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.758 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130721 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 24 exp: 46988312 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.766 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0112413073X 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 25 exp: 46988312 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.777 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130748 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 36 exp: 46988312 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.859 201C/01 $010-01-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01176449370 208@/01 $a10-01-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 49 exp: 46988312 49 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.787 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130756 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 54 exp: 46988312 54 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.805 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130772 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 108 exp: 46988312 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.827 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130799 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 204 exp: 46988312 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.841 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130802 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH lok: 46988312 205 exp: 46988312 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $010-01-22 $t22:37:00.850 201C/01 $029-09-20 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01124130810 208@/01 $a29-09-20 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/31666 $XH
