As we draw close to a time when there will be no more firsthand experience of the horrors of the Holocaust, there is great concern about what will happen when German responsibility turns into history. Will the present taboo against open antisemitism be lifted as collective memory fades? There are alarming signs of the rise of the far right, which includes blatantly antisemitic elements, already visible in public discourse. But it is mainly the radicalization of the otherwise moderate Muslim population of Germany and the entry of almost a million refugees since 2015 from Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan that appears to make German society less tolerant and somewhat less inhibited about articulating xenophobic attitudes. The evidence is unmistakable—overt antisemitism is dramatically increasing once more. The Future of the German-Jewish Past deals with the formidable challenges created by these developments. It is conceptualized to offer a variety of perspectives and views on the question of the future of the German-Jewish past. The volume addresses topics such as antisemitism, Holocaust memory, historiography, and political issues relating to the future relationship between Jews, Israel, and Germany. While the central focus of this volume is Germany, the implications go beyond the German-Jewish experience and relate to some of the broader challenges facing modern societies today. lok: 48314008 3 101B $018-11-21 $t15:29:11.000 101C $018-11-21 101U $0utf8 145S/02 $a770 145Z/01 $a900 Fd 0500 exp: 48314008 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:02.999 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258458 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 5 exp: 48314008 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.007 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258466 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 8 exp: 48314008 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.016 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258474 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 10 exp: 48314008 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.023 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258482 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 11 exp: 48314008 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.031 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258490 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 13 exp: 48314008 13 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.039 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258504 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 21 exp: 48314008 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.054 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258520 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 23 exp: 48314008 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.062 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258539 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 24 exp: 48314008 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.069 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258547 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 25 exp: 48314008 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.078 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258555 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 36 exp: 48314008 36 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.085 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258563 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 51 exp: 48314008 51 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.101 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $0116325858X 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 59 exp: 48314008 59 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.116 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258601 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 75 exp: 48314008 75 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.132 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258628 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 107 exp: 48314008 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.139 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258636 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 108 exp: 48314008 108 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.147 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258644 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 204 exp: 48314008 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.155 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258652 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH lok: 48314008 205 exp: 48314008 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:03.162 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163258660 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49467 $XH
