How can we convey the relevance of studying music history to current and future generations of students? And how might we represent and reflect the myriad, often conflicting perspectives, positions, and identities that make up both music’s history and the writers of history? Here we offer one response to those questions. Open Access Musicology is a collection of essays, written in an accessible style and with a focus on modes of inquiry rather than content coverage. Our authors draw from their experience as scholars but also as teachers. They have been asked to describe why they became musicologists in the first place and how their individual paths led to the topics they explore and the questions they pose. Like most scholarly literature, the essays have all been reviewed by experts in the field. Unlike all scholarly literature, the essays have also been reviewed by students at a variety of institutions for clarity and relevance. These essays are intended for undergraduates, graduate students, and interested readers without any particular expertise. They can be incorporated into courses on a range of topics as standalone readings or used to supplement textbooks. The topics introduce and explore a variety of subjects, practices, and methods but, above all, seek to stimulate classroom discussion on music history’s relevance to performers, listeners, and citizens." lok: 48314014 3 exp: 48314014 3 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.319 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259683 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 5 exp: 48314014 5 1 #EPN 201B/01 $011-02-22 $t18:24:28.471 201C/01 $011-02-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01182363075 208@/01 $a11-02-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 8 exp: 48314014 8 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.328 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259691 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 10 exp: 48314014 10 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.336 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259705 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 11 exp: 48314014 11 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.344 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259713 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 13 exp: 48314014 13 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.352 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259721 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 21 exp: 48314014 21 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.368 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259748 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 23 exp: 48314014 23 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.377 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259756 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 24 exp: 48314014 24 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.385 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259764 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 25 exp: 48314014 25 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.392 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259772 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 51 exp: 48314014 51 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.400 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259780 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 76 exp: 48314014 76 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.416 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259802 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 77 exp: 48314014 77 1 #EPN 201B/01 $001-03-22 $t22:53:22.806 201C/01 $001-03-22 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01183839340 208@/01 $a01-03-22 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 107 exp: 48314014 107 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.424 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259810 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 204 exp: 48314014 204 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.433 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259829 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH lok: 48314014 205 exp: 48314014 205 1 #EPN 201B/01 $004-08-21 $t23:30:04.441 201C/01 $004-08-21 201U/01 $0utf8 203@/01 $01163259837 208@/01 $a04-08-21 $bl 209S/01 $S0 $uhttps://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/49548 $XH
